The cat 6 cable is used primarily for the transmission of more than 1000Mpbs or 1Gpbs Internet speed, and is comprised of four pairs of copper strands. These copper strands provide a bandwidth of 250MHz, and the cable can be as long as 100 meters.

Compared to a twisted pair cable, the cat-6 cable offers stronger crosstalk protection and attenuation protection.
